This is my favourite song ever, by anyone! It's Tommy's voice on here that does it for me - at times he's inviting, at others, threatening, he's drawing you into the neighbourhood, enticing you and warning you against it at the same time. his voice has a very odd quality to it and the use of the instruments especially at the beginning is so odd it certainly sounds like no-one else!! I actually used to live in a street like this (in Reading of all places!!) which is why I love this song so much, the opening bars have the same quality of menace and enchantment in equal measure that the lyrics and the voice have. Come back Space, we need you!!!
